After spending my first year on the programme developing Jameson in Lille, France, I’m about to set off for a completely different challenge for my second year on the programme, The Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa.
I studied Business and French in University College Dublin which gave me the right foundations to start the role in France but if you had of told me a year ago that I’d be heading to the bustling city of Kinshasa in the DRC to kickstart Jameson activity in a country of over 70 million people I’d have been excited but also a mix of nervous and stressed (probably what my Mother is currently experiencing !).
After a year on the Jameson International Graduate Programme I feel prepared and hungry to start my dream job in Africa. In France I got to help the local team develop Jameson and from the start, was delighted at how much responsibility I was given in the role. This experience combined with the language skills I’ve acquired and the support provided by Jameson have me chomping at the bit to get started in the DRC.
It really is amazing where this job can take you and I look forward to sharing what this lad from Wicklow gets up to with Jameson in Africa ! (Donations of Factor 50 suncream will be greatly apprecited)
