I am a graduate of Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition from Queen’s University Belfast. I grew up in a family business which introduced an off license in recent years. This coupled with an interest in key market trends and a placement year spent in a fast paced ready meals company, sparked my passion for the beverage industry .I researched the graduate distiller programme and was immediately drawn to the diversity of the role. Jameson’s is a global brand, with a real passion behind it, and I knew I wanted to be a part of this!
I have just started the Graduate Distiller Programme. So far I have spent a week with the international brand ambassadors, learning about the history and heritage of Jameson, the brand and carried out training in whiskey tastings. Week 2 was spent in Fox and Geese in the fast-paced bottling plant learning about bottling operations, the quality steps involved and how Jameson’s whiskey is shipped worldwide. I am very much looking forward to week 3 in Middleton Co. Cork, where I will spend 7 weeks learning about the process of producing Irish Whisky from grain to glass and the maturation process.
So far, I am really enjoying Programme. Every day I learn something new, the people who work for Jameson are so passionate about their roles and could not be more helpful or friendly. I am so excited to embark on my career with Irish Distillers and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
