Jamie Sweeney

TERRITORY MANAGER, DUBLIN, UUJ GRADUATE

I studied Communication, Advertising & Marketing in University of Ulster, Jordanstown with a placement year in London as a Marketing Executive for a digital start up.

In my first year of the Jameson Graduate Programme, I was lucky enough to travel to New Zealand where I was based in Auckland and travelled all over the country to spread the word of Jameson. This was an amazing life experience as well as a great learning experience where I met so many incredible people inside and outside of Pernod Ricard. In my second year of the programme, I was brought back to the heart and home of Jameson as the Brand Ambassador for Dublin. Both of my years as a Jameson Brand Ambassador were highly field based which gave me a great opportunity to build relationships with customers and influencers, work with the sales team, and run events and campaigns to drive our Jameson plans for that market. I also had the opportunity of working with the marketing team to develop the brand plans for Jameson the following year.

In these two years of the Jameson Graduate Programme, I realised how much I enjoyed the sales side of the role and I wanted to get more experience to develop my sales skills and commercial acumen. In my 3rd year with the company, I joined the Commercial Ireland Sales team as a Territory Sales Developer in Dublin City South. This role involved driving sales and visibility of the Pernod Ricard portfolio in bars, hotels, restaurants and independent off-licences. I was in this role for 2 years and have now been moved into a Territory Manager role for Dublin City Centre. This role will also involve driving sales and visibility of the Pernod Ricard portfolio in the most competitive and demanding accounts in Ireland, along with the added responsibility of managing key accounts and having active involvement in brand planning with the marketing team.
